Upon graduation, Medical Transcription students will have completed many hours of transcription practice using modern transcription equipment connected to a computer. They will be familiar with the body’s anatomy, associated terminology, diseases, medical procedures, laboratory procedures, and pharmacology. Students who graduate from BCI’s Medical Transcription program are qualified to sit for the Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT exam administered by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity). With further experience, graduates can take the AHDI’s Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) exam.

Medical Billing & Coding students will gain a working knowledge of the CPT, HCPCS II and ICD-9 and ICD-10-CM coding systems. This program is well-rounded, and includes lessons in medical terminology, pharmacology, billing, coding, medical office practice, and more.
