Kara Silvers is an instructor in the Medical Billing and Coding Department. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Vocational Education, both from Auburn University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from Western Governor’s University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Ottawa University. She currently works as an instructor at a couple of universities teaching Medical Billing and Coding classes, as well as independent coding for various companies. Kara Silvers is an instructor in the Medical Billing and Coding Department. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Vocational Education, both from Auburn University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from Western Governor’s University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Ottawa University. She currently works as an instructor at a couple of universities teaching Medical Billing and Coding classes, as well as independent coding for various companies. She is CPC and CPC-I certified through the AAPC.

Does online Medical Billing & Coding Program lead to certification?

Graduates of Blackstone’s online Medical Billing and Coding program are qualified to sit for the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam administered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) exam from the American Billing Association (AMBA), and the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Will credits transfer to a college or university after I graduate?

Blackstone’s online Online Medical Billing and Coding Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level careers. While some schools may accept credits from Blackstone, it is at the discretion of the receiving school. Simply check with the school’s admissions office.

Do you provide job placement?
