Blackstone offers 3 affordable, interest-free payment plan options but is not a Title 1V school that accepts FAFSA or Pell Grants. Enrolling at Blackstone is easy, with our open enrollment you can enroll anytime. To qualify, a high school diploma or an equivalent along with access to a Microsoft Windows compatible PC or MAC with Internet access is needed. All applicants must complete our Enrollment Agreement along with the required down payment for processing. Applications will be processed only if they are accompanied with the required payment. Students can enroll anytime from our website by clicking here or calling our student service center Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST at 800.826.9228. Blackstone has open-enrollment, so students can enroll in our online programs anytime, 24/7/365.

As an online school, our courses use e-books for convenience of studying on the go and to allow us to keep tuition costs down. We do provide the ISBN information for each e-book under the materials tab. Students who wish to purchase a physical copy of the e-book can simply use the ISBN number provided on our website to purchase the book through a third party like amazon or chegg.com.

Students who pay in full for their program will have access to all of their materials once enrolled. Students who enroll under a monthly payment plan will have access to a new unit every month upon making their monthly payment.

One of the major advantages in taking Blackstone’s Pharmacy Technician program is that students can work at their own pace. Many students complete the program in 8 -12 months. Students have up to 18 months from their enrollment date to complete and graduate from their program.

To be eligible for an externship, students must:

• complete all Pharmacy Technician coursework
• hold a minimum 70% grade average
• have their tuition paid in full

Below is a list of the most common requirements to be approved for an externship, however you may be asked to provide additional information and/or documentation to your externship site. Additional details regarding this list is found on the following page. Please note that items marked with an asterisk (*) may incur a cost which is the responsibility of the student:

• Current resume
• Physical exam, including health history and immunization record completed by your physician (form available in the Online Student Center)*
• Copy of valid driver’s license and current auto insurance*
• CPR certification*
• Student liability coverage*
• Criminal background check including sex offender and child abuse check*
• Drug screen*
• Externship agreement, completed and signed by student and externship representative

Blackstone’s online programs are designed to prepare students for entry-level careers. While some schools may accept credits from Blackstone, it is at the discretion of the receiving school. Simply check with the school’s admissions office.

As a true distance education school, we are unable to provide job placement. We do feel confident that our online programs provide the education needed to qualify for entry-level employment. Our Career Center offers students and graduates resources to search for successful employment.

Pharmacy technicians fill an assortment of positions in almost every locale in a variety of pharmacy settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, drugstore chains, grocery stores, pharmaceutical sales, manufacturing companies and physicians’ offices. Often, pharmacy technicians choose positions based on unique interests and skills, previous work experience, or future goals.
