New Courses! Civil Litigation and Business Law
January 2005: Blackstone Career Institute has received approval from the Distance Education & Training Council to offer two new certificate courses in Civil Litigation and Business Law. These Advanced Paralegal Courses are taught by Blackstone’s staff of experienced instructors, and are perfect for paralegals, legal assistants, or professionals in other fields who wish to advance their knowledge of certain areas of the law.
Blackstone certificate courses are designed for people already employed in the field who wish to enhance their knowledge of a particular content area. These courses are not designed nor intended to provide the basic skills to gain employment within the paralegal field, as they lack important lessons necessary to start a new career. Entry-level training to prepare for a career as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal is also offered by Blackstone Career Institute. Students who successfully complete an advanced course will receive an official Blackstone Career Institute embossed certificate of completion.
Blackstone’s Advanced Paralegal Courses are each worth 20 hours toward the 50 hours of continuing Legal Education (CLE) needed for recertification if you are a Certified Paralegal (CP) through the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). Our coursework also qualifies as CLE credit for the five-year PLS and PP recertification through NALS, the association of legal professionals.
Employers will find these programs a convenient method for employees to develop the skills needed for advancement or assumption of new tasks within the company.
