WIOA Pennsylvania Programs: Training for You
Your educational aspirations don’t have to stay a dream. You can make your professional goals a reality by pursuing certification in a career field you love. But sometimes the process to get started can feel daunting. From deciding how to fit your coursework into your everyday life to making your educational pursuits affordable, there is a lot to consider when going back to school.
Blackstone Career Institute (BCI) has created a simple admissions process with a clear outline for each diploma program to help you stay on track with affordable and flexible education curated for your needs.
This is why Blackstone is proud to offer programs that align with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in Pennsylvania. Please note the following guidelines are specific to the state of Pennsylvania and may differ in other states.
BCI wants to make your educational path easy to navigate, so we’ve broken down all the important information you need to know about WIOA Pennsylvania.
What is WIOA?
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act exists to help individuals succeed in obtaining skills for in-demand jobs through professional certification and industry recognized credentials. Regardless of the job you are seeking, WIOA Pennsylvania champions individuals who are seeking a satisfying career and want to break the cycle of underemployment or unemployment with skills and knowledge that will set them apart in the industry.
The goal is to aid job seekers with the necessary training to help employers hire and retain qualified employees.
How Can WIOA Pennsylvania Help You?
WIOA Pennsylvania is available to qualifying individuals residing within the state. You must be a U.S. citizen or provide proof of documentation of your eligibility to work in the U.S. In addition, you must be income eligible or a dislocated worker and currently not have a marketable or in-demand skill for employment.
An example of a dislocated worker is someone who is experiencing a layoff due to a plant/factory closure or is a homemaker who lost their primary income. Any self-employed individuals who find themselves unemployed, such as farmers, ranchers, and fishermen, are also under this category.
To determine more specific eligibility, including the required income or dislocated worker criteria, visit the U.S. Government site that provides details on finding free work training and the appropriate phone number to speak with a representative.
If you meet all the requirements for WIOA Pennsylvania, you can receive up to $4,000 toward your educational pursuits.
One of the benefits of enrolling in an eligible career program with Blackstone through WIOA Pennsylvania is that the tuition falls below the $4,000 threshold. This means that individuals who qualify for WIOA assistance could use the remaining funds they obtain from WIOA to purchase technology equipment such as a laptop to complete their program.
