Flexible Online Programs for Military Families
There are multiple types of benefits available to military members and their families, and it can be confusing trying to sort through the information on various benefits and what educational programs they cover. We created this guide for people who want to pay for flexible online programs using funds from military benefit programs.
Below, you will find information on three types of benefits available to Service members, veterans, and military spouses. Each section includes an overview of the benefit and who is eligible, as well as information on what flexible online programs are covered by this benefit type and offered at Blackstone Career Institute. The covered programs rapidly change so be sure to check the links on our current military pages to find out if a program is still covered.
MyCAA
The My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) program for military spouses is funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and offers up to $4,000, with an annual maximum of $2,000, to those who qualify.
Being a spouse of a military member can be difficult, and with frequent moves, it can be hard to retain work. The Department of Defense initiated the MyCAA program to reduce the amount of time that military spouses spend unemployed in between moves.
Funds from the MyCAA program can be used to pay for expenses that are directly correlated to specific education and training programs, including costs like tuition, fees, books, and equipment—as well as licensing and credentialing fees.
The tuition for all of Blackstone Career Institute’s career training programs that are covered by MyCAA benefits is below the maximum allotted amount of $4,000. Only $2,000 is automatically applied toward these programs for qualifying users. However, the MyCAA program offers annual cap waivers for programs ranging from $2,000 to $4,000. A Career Coach can walk users through this process.
These flexible online programs can all be completed within two years, usually much quicker, and can open up a variety of career and employment opportunities once completed.
Blackstone Career Institute’s covered flexible online programs under MyCAA benefits are as follows:
Whether you are looking to enter the legal, medical, or pharmaceutical field, Blackstone Career Institute has programs that are covered by your MyCAA benefits! You can get certified (dependent on passing the certification exam) in a field with potentially widespread employment opportunities. You may even have remote work opportunities as well.
GI Bill®
GI Bill® benefits are quite varied and may cover veterans and their families. Depending on which GI Bill® benefits you qualify for, you or your spouse might be eligible to have up to the full tuition paid when you enroll in a qualifying Blackstone Career Institute online training program.
The Post-9/11 GI Bill® is the most widespread and covers veterans with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or that have been discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days.. Those who qualify for Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits may have up to 100% of their Blackstone tuition paid.
The Montgomery GI Bill® Programs also offers funds that can be used to help pay for Blackstone tuition. These benefits are less common and more varied.
Spouses may also be eligible for the benefits. Check here for more information on the GI Bill® benefits through Blackstone.

The Army Credentialing Assistance Program, offered by the Department of Defense, began in 2019 as a way of helping active duty service members expand their options for employment after the military and improve their lives.
To qualify, you must be an active duty service member with enough service time remaining to complete the credential program before leaving the Army. Blackstone Career Institute’s programs are self-paced and can usually be completed in a matter of months.
The Army Credentialing Assistance program provides up to $4,000 in tuition benefits for select flexible online programs offered by Blackstone Career Institute. The following programs can be paid for using these benefits:
